The course will consist of a course of show jumps immediately followed by XC fences and will finish with the last fence as a show jump, the joker fence which will be set at a discretionary 10cm higher than the rest of the course. There will be a maximum of 20 jumping efforts, 9 SJ, 10 XC and the joker SJ fence. A horse may compete in up to two classes 70 & 80, 80 & 90, 90 & 100 cm as an individual or part of a team

The time allowed will be based on 70cm – 340mpm, 80cm – 350mpm, 90cm – 360mpm, 100cm – 375mpm.

NO STOPWATCHES ALLOWED. Competitors are NOT allowed to take mobile phones onto the course when competing.

Entry Fee         £ 42 per rider, all team members will automatically be entered as individuals. Price increase due to BRC requiring a vet onsite for both days.

·       PLEASE NOTE ALL HORSES MUST BE MICROCHIPPED

·       For the BRC classes All HORSES MUST HAVE HAD A FLU VACCINATION WITHIN 12 MONTHS OF THE COMPETITION AND NOT WITHIN THE 7 DAYS PRIOR TO THE EVENT

·       A copy of the flu vaccination FOR AREA 5 ENTRIES MUST be sent to Tony Parker BEFORE the event a5passports@gmail.com

Could team managers please make all their BRC club entries and NOT ask their riders to enter individually.

All competitors entering the open classes MUST abide by the BRC rules, all BRC entries will take priority over open entries.

ENTRIES CLOSE: FRIDAY 7th October 2022. Late entries accepted if space – surcharge of £5.00 extra.

Refunds: After the closing date, entry fees will only be refunded if notified by 12 noon on Monday 11thOctober and on receipt of medical/vets certificates. THIS RULE WILL BE STRICTLY ADHERED TOAND NO REFUND OF ENTRY WILL BE MADE AFTER THIS TIME.

Important Information

BRC Topspec Arena Eventing Championships to be held on 10 – 12 March 2023 Washbrook Farm, Aston-le-Walls, Daventry, Northamptonshire. NN11 6RT 


This competition will run under British Riding Club Rules. It is important that all competitors are aware of the rules relating to this competition – please see the current BRC Handbook and also the BRC Rule Amendments and Changes Document which can be found at the link below: http://www.bhs.org.uk/enjoy-riding/british-riding-clubs/brc-rulebook.

All BRC entrants must pay a pre entry fee of £42 per team or £12 per individual to British Riding Clubs at least 21 days before the date of the qualifier (above). Entry forms can be found on the BRC website for postal entries www.britishridingclubs.org.uk  or online entries can be made via the BRC website. https://brc.bhs.org.uk/login?referral=%2Fselect . Late prelim entries may be accepted at the discretion of the organiser with a late surcharge of £20 per team and £10 per individual (payable to BRC HQ), if there are sufficient spaces.  Late entries cannot be guaranteed therefore must not be paid for until approval from the organiser has been sought.

 

If the date of the qualifier is cancelled for any reason, the close of prelim entry will remain.  However, if the qualifier is moved more than 21 days later, entries will be re-opened but late entry fees cannot be refunded.  Eligibility will be approved at the original close of prelim entry.

 

Your horse must have up to date Influenza vaccinations in line with rule G7 in the current BRC Rulebook.

GENERAL RULES ALL CLASSES

Horse/ponies must be 4 years or older.

HAT STANDARDS All hats must have a visible AQUA BRC/ BE/PC hat tag in place before they are used forwarming up and competing. There will be a trained steward available on the day that will be carrying out hattagging if your hat does not already have a tag.

BODY PROTECTORS: A body protector is obligatory in all cross-country competitions and is stronglyrecommended in show jumping competitions. A BETA Level 3 (purple label) which has been manufacturedin the year 2009 or blue label 2018 must be worn. Body protectors should be fitted and worn as per themanufacturer’s instructions. The up to date BETA list of body protectors can be obtained from www.beta-uk.org.

If a rider chooses to wear an airbag style body protector it must be worn over a permitted body protectorand if activated, must be deflated or removed before continuing. Hybrid Air-jackets are permitted. Riderswearing Exo Body Cage (2000) protectors must inform the secretary at all events.

The uses of HEAD CAMS are strictly prohibited. This includes use on the head, chest, bridle or any other part of the horse or rider.

Medical armbands are strongly recommended and must be properly completed with the relevant competitor’s details and worn on the arm.

Stop watches are NOT allowed.

Tack and Dress Rules

Please make sure you adhere to tack and dress rules found in the current version of the BRC rules. Thefull 2021 version is available to download online.

Each rider must print their own bib number.

OBJECTIONS:

Objections must be made in writing to the Secretary within half an hour of the incident together with a £50 deposit. The deposit will be forfeited if the objection is not sustained. After this the score cannot be changed.

The organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of every person present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and must obey the instructions of the organisers and all the officials and stewards.

Please take special care to ensure the safety of children. Children must be supervised at all times.

Save for death or injury caused by the negligence of the organisers or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, for themselves, their servants, agents, employees and all those connected with the event, do not accept liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horses, owners, riders, spectators, vehicles, their contents and accessories or any other person or property whatsoever, whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or statutory duty or any way whatsoever of themselves, their servants, agents, employees and all those connected with the event.

RESERVATION of RIGHT

The Organisers reserve the right to: Cancel any class or section; Divide any class; Transfer competitors between sections of a class; Alter the advertised times, and Refuse any entry.
